AKAROA BOROUGH
PROVISIONAL SCHEME FOR' ABOLITION
The Local Government Commission has promulgated its provisional scheme for the abolition of the borough of Akaroa. If no objections are received by July 11, the commission will approve the provisional scheme as its final scheme.
It is a recommendation of the scheme that a poll of electors of the boroush be held on the question of abolition.
A further clause provides that “the Akaroa Urban Fire District as at present constituted shall be abolished, and the urban area of Akaroa, with boundaries identical with those of the present borough, shall be constituted an urban fire district, under the name of the Akaroa Urban Hie District”
