The Rev. H. F. Ault, who was for-; merly vicar of Oxford. SouthbridgeLeeston. and Akaroa in the Diocese oil Christchurch, has been appointed Archdeacon of Waimea in succession to the Ven. T. J. Smith, who retired early this year. Archdeacon Ault be-j ’ came vicar of All Saints. Nelson, in: 1952. and is a member of the standing (committee and editor of the “Witness.” The Canterbury School Committees , Association last evening recorded its regret at the death of Mr R. S. H Buchanan, who had been a member ■ for more than 25 years, secretary from ,'1932 to 1940, president in 1941. and' Dominion president in 1938.
