New U.S. Fighter Crashes

One of the United States Navy’s newest jet fighters—the world record breaking F4D Skyray, went into /a vertical spin yesterday and crashed near a new Ford assembly. plant. The pilot parachuted safely. Another Navy jet . fighter, whose pilot parachuted to safety on Sunday night, was found yesterday in a racefield near Houston (Texas). The pilot abandoned the F9F jet when the engine stopped at 20.000 ft. He said the cockpit filled with smoke.
