CANTERBURY CENTRE MEETING

A special meeting of the Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association was held last evening to deal with proposed changes of rules, and also to consider remits, submitted by various centres, which will come forward at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Association to be held in Wellington on Saturday. The Canterbury delegates, Messrs G. W. Olark, H. C. Poore and G. Kemp, were instructed how to vote on the remits.

Advice was received that the compulsory insurance scheme for riders, which was decided on at the last annual meeting of the centre, could not be continued as the insurance company, which waS to underwrite the business, had now declined to continue with this type of business. It was decided to discuss the matter of insurance at the next meeting, and thqp to approach other insurance companies to see if they would be prepared to effect this type of cover. The meeting accepted with pleasure from two anonymous donors a cheque for £lO, to be used in defraying part of the cost of new road jerseys for Canterbury representatives at national championships. Mr S. Poore was elected officer in charge of the 25-mile senior and junior Canterbury championships to be held at Waikari next Saturday.
