June 6, The New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Holland) told Reuters today that the American dumping of farm surpluses was a menace to world trade and would seriously hamper the healthy development of New Zealand s trade with Japan in primary produce. Mr Holland and his partv will le&Ve Tokyo later today for Canada. Mr Holland is on his way to attend fhe Commonwealth Prime Ministers’ conference in London. Mr Holland said: “I am opposed to dumping- anywhere and everywhere, but New Zealand’s repeated requests to Washington have brought no results.” He said the subject of American farm surpluses would very possibly be discusesd at the Prime’Ministers’ conference. Except for this problem, Mr Holland said. Japanese-New Zealand trade was on a sound basis and a considerable expansion to the mutual advantage of both countries coala be expected.
