QUOTATIONS IN CHRISTCHURCH

OVERSEAS EXCHANGE RATES STERLING WEAKER Sterling lost further ground to the hard currencies of North America last week. In the last month the £ sterling has depreciated .4 cents in terms of the United States dollar and 1.5 cents in terms of the Canadian dollar. Latest telegraphic transfer exchange rates as advised yesterday by the Bank of New South Wales are as follows:

AUSTRALIAN COPPER

PRICE REDUCED The Australian price of copper has been lowered by £ASI a ton to £A43B 15s in the monthly adjustment for June. This is £A9B 15s below the record price which ruled in April, and follows a sharo decline in London copper prices in the latter part of May.
