HOLIDAY DEATHS IN VICTORIA

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, June 5. Two wives saw their husbands knocked down and killed by a truck in Prahran, Melbourne, last night. The police say that the truck did not stop. The Victorian holiday week-end road toll (10) was the worst since the middle of April. Six persons died during the last Queen’s Birthday week-end. . Police and ambulances attended accidents at the rate of one every three minutes between 5 p.m. and * 8 p.m. yesterday, as dozens of cars crashed on greasy roads. The two men killed at Prahran were walking ahead of their wives when they were hit near a street corner.
