U.N. DECISION IN KOREA

Soviet Blames U.S.

For “Instigation”

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) MOSCOW, June 5. “Pravda,” the official newspaper of the Soviet Communist Party, today attacked the United States for allegedly instigating the United Nations Command in Korea to expel from South Korea the Communist members of the armistice inspection teams. The article, written by L. Dbliugin, quoted by Tass. the Soviet news agency, said: “The recent one-sided decision of the American command in South Korea ... is clearly intended to poison a peaceful atmosphere, create alarm amongst the Korean people and at the same time to give full freedom to the reactionary elements in South Korea who are still harbouring an idea of a new attack against Northern Korea. “The American Command tries to justify its one-sided action by allegation that the North Korean authorities are violating the armistice agreement and that the work of the inspection group is bringing no results. “Referring to the invented-by-themselves ‘Communist menace’ the American militarists are again rattling arms.

“Inventions about threats of aggression by North Korea are false and groundless. “This is clear for all the nations of the world.”

Deliugin asserted that the North Koreans had always advocated peaceful unification of the whole country and never dreamed of the resumption of war.

“One-sided actions of the American command testify the neglect of the militaristic circles of the United States to take into account the necessity of maintaining peace in Korea. “They represent an arbitrary violation of the armistice agreement which had been signed by American representatives. “This is a set-back of the cold war which is distasteful for the people who want to live in peace,” said “Pravda.”
