Peter Churchill To Remarry
(Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, June 5. The British resistance hero, Captain Peter Churchill, and Australian-born Irene Hoyle, who taught him many of the tricks of spying, will be married in the Nice British Consulate on Thursday, the “Daily Express” said today.
Captain Churchill, aged 47, was awarded the D.S.O. and M,C. for his work with the French Resistance during the war. He was formerly mar.ried in 1947 to Odette Sansom, a George Cross-winning Resistance heroine, but the couple were divorced last November.
The “Daily Express” said Miss Hoyle was known as Jane. The Germans never heard of her. and very few people at the Baker street (London) headquarters of the school for spies, known as the Special Operations Executive. knew the secret of Jane’s identity.
