Syrian Premier Seeks To Resign
<Rec. 9 p.m.) DAMASCUS, June 3. The Syrian Prime Minister, Mr Said Ghazzi, today asked to be allowed to resign. His action touched off a Cabinet crisis. The President, Mr Shukri Kuwatly. has not yet accepted the resignation, according to authoritative quarters. The immediate cause of the crisis was reported to be a dispute within the Cabinet over a proposed ban on wheat exports to France and for French troops in Algeria. Mr Antaki, the Minister for National Economy, and two other Populist Ministers are said to be opposing the rest of the Cabinet who want an immediate ban on such exports.
