Tornado Blows One Piece Of Good Fortune
(Rec 8 n.m.) MUSTANG <Oklahoma), June 3. In spite of damage estimated up to 200.000 dollars from a pair of tornadoes, most of the 210 residents of Mustang were still able to smile today The tornadoes—described as freaks by the Weather Bureau— damaged every home in the little town. They destroyed barns, shattered small buildings and blew out window glass. They ripped porches from some houses. But. although most of the residents were caught unawares in their houses when the twisters struck, no-one was injured.
After the storm was over, the people looked at their shattered town and some of them still found something to be pleased about. Some curiositv seekers were puzzled by an odorous hair-like substance that covered the small farm town. Holding his nose, one resident explained: “That’s all that remains of our one claim to fame, the hog-hair processing plant.” Another, looking at the ruins of the nrocessing factory—which in the past had brought many complaints about the odour from residents —said: “That’s needed doing a long time.” It was not recorded what the owners of the factory thought.
