LONDON, June 4.
The Governor of Cyprus, Field-Marshal Sir John Harding, will have talks with Ministers and officials today after flying into London last night. Sir John Harding is expected to discuss measures for fighting the growing violence in Cyprus.
Informed quarters believe that his mission is more than just the customary trip home for routine consultations. They believe that one of the main aims of the Governor’s talks will be to discover a new avenue of approach to the present impasse on the island.
Colonial Office officials would give no details of Sir John Harding’s programme today, merely saying he would be having talks with Ministers and officials.
