A partial albino pheasant was shot north of Kaukapakapa on Sunday by Mr Assid Corban. of Henderson. The bird had a white head and legs, white body plumage speckled with red, and pale eyes. A young cock, it was flushed with a covey of ordinary pheasants. Mr E. G. Turbott, ornithologist and entomologist of the Auckland Museum, said last night that partial albinism was fairly rare among pheasants.— (P.A.)
