PRINCESS MARGARET’S ITINERARY (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) MOMBASA, June 3. Princess Margaret is expected to begin her East African tour on September 18 at Mombasa. The deputy Governor of Kenya (Sir Fred- | erick Crawford), announced this at Mombasa last night. The Princess will fly direct from Europe, spend a day in the town and then embark on the Royal yacht Britannia and sail for Zanzibar and Mauritius, visiting Tanganyika and Kenya later, Sir Frederick Crawford added. This is the first announcement giving an approximate date for the Princess’s arrival in East Africa. j An earlier statement from Clarence House in London said the Princess would visit East Africa and the island of Mauritius in the latter half of September and October. Sir Frederick Crawford, who is on a tour of the coast province, said the outline of the Princess’s programme had been agreed upon at Clarence House during the recent visit to Britain of Kenya’s Governor, Sir Evelyn Baring. N.Z. WOMAN’S FEAT TOOK SEVEN CHILDREN BY AIR TO SYDNEY (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) SYDNEY, June 4. Travelling New Zealanders made news in Sydney last week. The “Sun” described as “a brave woman” Mrs K. Tapper, of St. Heliers. who “whizzed through Sydney with the largest consignment of children ever carried by T.E.A.L. between Australia and New Zealand.” Mrs Tapper brought seven of her 11 children on a four-month visit to her mother in Hobart. “This is the first time I have travelled with them in bulk,” said Mrs Tapper, “but it worked wonderfully well. There was' not a sound from them on the flight from Nev.' Zealand.” The children’s ages ranged from 14 years to 10 months.
