BORSTAL INMATE RECAPTURED

(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 4. After six days of freedom, a 20-year-old Borstal inmate, Charles Victor Hay, was arrested by Constable D. Crowe near Gore at 2.30 a.m. yesterday. Hay, who escaped from the Invercargill Borstal institution last Monday night, was seen walking along the main road to Gore. When arrested he was carrying no firearms. Hay told the Invercargill police that he had been hiding in the show grounds and at Thomson’s Bush, since his escape. He had apparently walked to Gore from Invercargill. I
