Mr W. O. R. Gilling. who has been chief chemist of the Christchurch Gas Company since 1920. retired at the end of last week. Speakers at the presentation to him of a fireside chair from the Gasworks Social Club included the president of the club (Mr L. Sneddon), the engineer (Mr E. F. Gorman), the new chief chemist (Mr John Pollard), and the analyst (Mr M. Hunter). Messrs S. Greenberg and M. Logan have been appointed Government members of the Egg Marketing Authority for two years ffcpm June 1.
