Visit of board’s EXAMINERS il , EX r2 miners in music and elocution for the Trinity College of Music. London, will arrive m Christchurch in July and August. Mr R. W. Clifford, who will examine music students, is a distinguished scholar of English. French, arid the classics and has specialised in many branches of music. He is a graduate and Fellow of the Trinity College of Music. Mr Clifford was educated at Clifton College, Bristol, Phillips Academy, Massachusetts, Harvard University, and Balliol College, Oxford. In Britain, Mr Clifford takes an active interest in singing, choir training, teaching of pianoforte, organ and stringed instruments. He has also had considerable experience in conducting and in the repertory theatre Mr Clifford will arrive in Christchurch on July 10. Towards the end of August. Mrs Pamela Barnard will come to Christchurch to examine in elocution and speech subjects. Mrs Barnard sludied at the Central School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art, and holds the University Diploma for Diction and drama. She also has the International Phonetics Association Certificate A lecturer in history of the theatre and dramatic literature, at Trinitv College. Mrs Barnard has produced many plays for the drama and opera departments. She has had much experience in teeching En ? lish to foreign students. Mrs Barnard gives regular poetry readings in London and the provinces She has judged at drama and versespeaking festivals, and has taught in many schools.
