SENIOR EVENT WON t BY B. MAGEE COLTS’ CHAMPIONSHIP TO J. SAUNDERS fNew Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. June 3. B. Magee, a former national six-mih champion, won the senior event, the 6j mile race, at the New Zealand Methodis clubs’ cross-country championship, held a Mount Roskill yesterday. Harriers from as far south as Timan braved atrocious conditions. Magee led Auckland to win the teams title. Last year’s winner, J. Daube (Welling ton), was again successful in the four mile junior contest from L. Poolmar (Auckland). The colts’ course was a stern test. J Saunders (Timaru) won this event Iron R. Gillies (Wellington). Results were as follows: Senior Championship, 6j miles. —B Magee (Auckland), 44min 17sec, 1; G Priestley (Auckland). 44min 48sec. 2; B Slaney (Auckland), 45min 32scc, 3. Teams title: Auckland (Magee. Priestley. Slaney i 6 points 1; Wellington. 28 points, 2 Christchurch. 30 points. 3. Junior Championship, four miles.—J Daube (Wellington). 28min 15sec, 1; L Poolman (Auckland), 29min 21sec, 2; R Daube (Wellington), 29min 59sec, 3 Teams’ title: Wellington (Daube.
