ROYAL VISIT
Talks On Travel Arrangements MR A. G. HARPER TO GO TO AUSTRALIA (New Zeaiana Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 7. Arrangements for the Duke of Edinburgh's visit to New Zealand next December are to be discussed in Australia by the Secretary of Internal Affairs (Mr A. G. Harper), who will leave Wellington this week. In Australia Mr Harper will have discussions with Lieutenant-Commander Michael Parker, private secretary to the Duke of Edinburgh, and with the Australian authorities. The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Australia and New Zealand on a tour that will take him to British countries and possessions round the world. He will leave Britain on October 14. joining “he Royal yacht Britannia in the Indian Ocean. He will open the Olympic Games in Melbourne on November 22. and will fly to New Zealand on December 11. landing at Ohakea and flying from there to Rongotai. The Duke of Edinburgh will have engagements in Wellington. Auckland, and Christchurch, and will inspect development works in the middle of the North Island. He will also make a flying visit to Norfolk Island.
He will join the Britannia at Lyttelton. and will visit the Chatham Islands, afterwards calling at a number of outpost British possessions before reaching Britain again at the end of January.
