Child Who Handled Cobalt 60 Improving
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 6. Christopher Richards, the four-year-old boy who developed radioactive poisoning after playing with a deadly cobalt-60 isotope, is showing signs of improvement, his doctor said last night. Christopher picked up the isotope capsule, an inch-wide metal knob attached to lengths of string and chain on the pavement outside his suburban Sydney home on April 17. It had been used in testing gas pipes.
