RANGIORA PARISHIONERS’ MEETING
“The most important happening of the year was the ‘move forward’ inaugurated by the Bishop.” said the vicar of Rangiora (the Rev. W. G. Heerdegen). in his report at the annual meeting of parishioners. “One of our contributions has been the adoption of a parish slogan: ‘Every Anglican in church every Sunday.’ Already this has begun to bear fruit.” The vicar also complimented the people on the way they had supported the appeal to build a new vicarage. More than half the money was now in hand. The new hall at Southbrook had proved to be of wonderful value. All Sunday schools and Bible classes had risen to a record peak in numbers. The election of officers resulted as follows:—vicar’s warden. Mr Stephen Smith: people’s- warden, Mr V. Luisetti; vestry, the churchwardens and Messrs S. Minchington, A. Brady, J. Smith, A. King, L. D. J. Smith. R. Matthews, H. Lee, H. Tyrrell, T. Frizzell and C. Wyllie; delegates to Church council, Messrs Stephen Smith and A. Thompson; synodsman. Mr H. Burgin.
