MR R. L. G. CHALLIS POSTED TO BANGKOK (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 3. The appointment of Mr Foss Shanahan as New Zealand Commissioner for South-east Asia, and the choice of Singapore as his headquarters, were wise, and only good results could come from them, said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) in the House of Representatives tonight.
Mr Holland announced that Mr R. L. G. Challis, at present New Zealand Charge d’Affaires in Tokyo, would be transferred to Bangkok to fill the re-cently-created post there. He would be responsible to Mr Shanahan.
