MR W. F. MASSEY
CENTENARY OF BIRTH COMMEMORATED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 26. The centenary of the birth of Mr W. F. Massey, Prime Minister of New Zealand from July, 1912. to May, 1125. was commemorated today by a visit by a group led by the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) to the Massey Memorial at Point Halswell. Mr Holland, who placed a wreath on the memorial, was accompanied by Mrs C. W. Salmon, a daughter of Mr Massey. Mr J. N. Massey, M.P., a son, the Minister of Works (Mr W. S. Goosman), a nephew, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Sir Matthew Oram). Mr Massey was born at Limavady. County Londonderry, Ireland, on March 26, 1856. Commemoration of the centenary was delayed for a month because of a conflict in dates, but that accepted is the one given in the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography.
