LIGHT LAND TRIAL
In spite of the drought, a high per acre return has been achieved on the light land trial being conducted by the Department of Agriculture at West Eyreton. From the 75 ewes on the 22^-acre block, 115 lambs at 291 b have been drafted, giving a per acre return of 148$lb of meat. The ewes clipped an average of 91b of wool, a return of 301 b of wool per acre. These are good returns for this class of land, and represent at current prices a gross return of almost £2l per acre.
