N.Z. TEMPERANCE COUNCIL
PLAN' TO INTENSIFY CAMPAIGN J New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 13. The New Zealand Council of Temperance Education plans to intensify its campaign for temperance education in schools. According to the secretary of the United Temperance Societies. Auckland (Mr, N. A. Reynolds), the campaign will be only part of a wider temperance programme planned this year. As well, special appeals are to be made through the Dominion's churches and the questions of family influence, religious self-discipline, and the extent to which the New Zealand temperance organisation will take legal action to achieve its objects are to be reexamined.
This renewed activity is in line with policy statements issued by the president of the United Kingdom Alliance (Mr Phillip Fothergill) at the annual meeting in England recently.
