INTER-SCHOOL MATCH

CHRIST’S COLLEGE BEATS NELSON COLLEGE Christ’s College had a comfortable win in its cricket match with Nelson College at the Christ’s College Oval yesterday. Christ’s College carried its overnight score of 219 for eight wickets to 234. Nelson College started its second innings at 10.30 a.m., 115 runs behind, and was all out for 157 by 2.30 p.m. Christ’s College had no difficulty in passing Nelson's combined total of 276. and scored 44 without loss. After a good start to Nelson’s second innings, G. Dee was run out when attempting an impossible second run. A useful partnership by R. Hunter and P. Wilson put Nelson in a good position again. Hunter was out to an easy catch by R. Kelleher 'off A. Reekie. Wilson, who had been driving strongly and turning to leg very well, scored nine 4's. He was unfortunate to be run out after he thought he had been caught. The Nelson batsmen tailed off after this, ana only three reached double figures, with 11 runs in each case. B. Farrant bowled erratically for Christ’s College in the morning, but settled down to a good length in the afternoon, and kept the Nelson batsmen subdued. Reekie, three wickets for 33 runs, and P. Henderson, three for 39. were the most successful Christ's College bowlers. Scores:—
