ARABS PLAN SECURITY
Result Of Talks In Cairo (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) CAIRO. March 12 The Heads of State of Egypt. Syria and Saudi Arabia said today that they lad drawn up a comprehensive plan to ensure Arab .security against the dangers of “Zionist aggression and foreign domination.” A communique issued after five days af talks among the Egyptian Prime Minister (Lieutenant-Colonel Game Abdel Nasser). President Shukri el Kufwali of Syria, and King Saud of Saudi Arabia, also said that they have agreed that all possible support should be given to Jordan. Every help will be extended to her in the event of foreign pressure or Zionist aggression. The three leaders are reported to have offered Jordan aid to replace the £12.000,000 annual subsidy she receives from Britain, and to have urged her to join a unified Arab plan to meet any Israeli aggression. Jordan declined to join the Britishbacked Bagdad Pact for Middle East defence —opposed *by the three countries —after riots against the pact in the country. In their communique the Egyptian. Syrian, and Saudi Arabian leaders declared their determination to safeguard the Arab world against the evils of the cold war “by keepin® it away from diverse currents and also by adopting an unbiased policy.” They describe their plans as a “shield against all eventualities and unpleasant surprises.” They said it was laid down to “counter-act the attempts exerted through the Bagdad Pact to bring pressure to bear on the Arab countries, endangering Arab security.” The defence of the Arab world should emanate from “the heart of the Arab nations” and away from all 'oreign pacts. An official Egyptian sookesman said last night that Egypt had offered to her campaign against the Bagdad Pact if the alliance is “frozen” and not extended to any other Arab country. ; foreshadowed £y in r the House of Commons.”
