LINWOOD METHODIST CHURCH
The annual Harvest Thanksgiving services of the Linwood Methodist Church were held on Sunday. The morning service was also attended by the Sunday school scholars, who brought their gifts and laid them on tables in front of the Communion rail alongside the offerings of the congregation.
The preacher at the morning service was the Rev. J. C. A. Williams. A solo, “Give Thanks and Sing,” was sung by Mrs Carlene Shapcott. At the evening service, which was taken by Mr H. W. Beaumont, the sacred duet, “O Lovely Peace,” was given by Mrs Grace Harrall and Mrs Edna Smith. The choir sang Hie anthems. “The Valleys are Covered with Corn” and “Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem.” The choirmaster was Mr S. Harrington and the organist Mrs S. Hodgson.
