The weather forec. st. issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 27 hours after the tine of issue, is:— Situation:— The anti-cyclone covering central New Zealand is losing intensity. Forecast West Coast.—Light winds; fair weather: moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: some rain possible. Nelson and Marlborough.—Moderate easterlies: fair to fine weather: moderate temperatures. Outlook: fair. Canterbury. Moderate north-east winds: fair weather; cool to moderate temperatures. Outlook: possibly some rain late in the day. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was dull, with a very light south-west wind and maximum temperature of 60.8 degrees. At midnight, the sky was cloudy, and there was an eight-knot w'ind from the north-east. The temperature was 52.8 degrees. The barometer, at 30.1 inches <1019.2 millibars), was falling.
