Mrs Frances Ridder was elected enrolling member and Mrs J. Kent secretary at the annual meeting of the Mothers’ Union of St. Mary’s Church. Halswell. New Zealand is now an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation. This was agreed at the conference of the federation in Tokyo, and was reported at the first meeting for the year of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Family Planning Association. Members were also interested to learn that on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Family Planning Association in Britain the Minister of Health (Mr lain Macleod), visited the North Kensington centre and paid a tribute to the work which had been done by the association. A review of the year's work of the branch was presented by the president and the secretary and members of the committee read extracts from overseas affiliated organisations. A bring and buy was held for funds for the clinic.

R. McDonald and J. Prescott; honorary auditor. Mr J. L. Morris. Mr A. E. Caddick outlined the book chosen for study of 1956, “Barnaby Rudge.” Several members spoke appreciably of the work of Miss E. Bull, who held the office of honorary treasurer for 19 years.
