CHRISTCHURCH R.S.A. MEMBERSHIP

CONTINUED INCREASE REPORTED

The Christchurch Returned Services’ Association claims to be the only metropolitan services’ association to show an increase in membership in two consecutive years. According to the fortieth annual report of the association, this increase is expected to continue. The report, to be presented to the annual meeting on March 21, expresses the appreciation of the executive for donations to help the work of the hospital visiting committee. During the last year 3521 visits were made to the Christchurch Public Hospital, 456 to Burwood Hospital, 19 to private hospitals, and 1217 to private homes. The Linwood-Avonside committee last year completed the purchase of a section for clubrooms. Clubrooms are now in use at Papaniii, Woolston, Spreydon-Addington, Riccarton, New Brighton, Sumner, and Lyttelton.
