CLOSING OF NELSON RAILWAY

DAMAGES CLAIM TO BE HEARD BY JUDGE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 7. The Supreme Court today dismissed a motion by two Nelson sawmillers seeking trial by jury of an action claiming £17,362 5s damages because of the closing of the Nelson-Glenhope railway.

The plaintiffs were John Ralston Dick, manager, and Robert Thomas Sauer, director, both of Hope, carrying on business in partnership as sawmillers under the name of the Valetta Timber Company. The first defendant was the Attorney-General. The second defendants were members of the New Zealand Railways Commission.
