CAREER OF DR. AZIKIWE
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 17. In a report of the prominent part played by Dr. Namdi Azikiwe during the Queen’s visit to Enugu. Nigeria, Reuter’s special correspondent described him as probably the most colourful and versatile figure in Nigerian politics, but added that he had once been expelled from the Gold Coast for sedition.
Reuters now learn that Dr. Azikiwe, who is Minister for the Eastern Region of Nigeria, has never been expelled from the Gold Coast nor been guilty of sedition, and they offer him their apologies.
