Strong Buyers For Gas Shares
There were strong buyers for all listed gas shares on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Auckland Gas (5s paid), which have not been traded in Christchurch for some time, sold at 4s 7|d —l id above the highest price paid last year. Wellington Gas, sold in Christchurch last week for 31s 6d, had buyers at 31s 9d, which is 9d above last year’s peak. Buyers for Christchurch Gas, paid and contributing, were also offering prices above any paid last year. Only one seller appeared in this section yesterday. Aulsebrooks preference lost 9d in sales at 20s. National Bank of Australasia and Coles were also easier. Other prices were unchanged in moderate trading.
