NEW CHAPEL FOR ST. JOSEPH S NOVITIATE AT CLAREMONT, NEAR TIMARU.—A drawing of the chapel which is being built in the grounds of “Claremont House” to meet the growing needs of the novitiate conducted by the Marist Brothers. On the left is the homestead built by George Hampton Rhodes, who bought the Claremont estate in 1884. The new chapel is the first addition to the property since it was acquired by the Marist Brothers’ order in 1933. The concrete blocks used in Its construction were made by the brothers. The architect is Mr H. Francis Willis, of Christchurch.
