WOOL AND GRAIN STORE WAGES

The award for Canterbury wool and grain store workers is now in line with the rest of New Zealand. This was agreed to on Friday when claims were heard in Christchurch by a Conciliation Council presided over by the Canterbury Conciliation Commissioner (Mr A. B. Rigg). All hourly and weekly wage rates were increased by the equivalent of lid an hour, and an extra day was added to special holidays. The grain stack builders’ rate was increased by a further Id an hour.
