During the present emergency residents are requested to prevent any water race leaks in paddocks, and to cut off any dead end races which can be managed without. If the trouble cannot be remedied, the County Staff or Council Office should be notified promptly. Cases have been reported where some residents are not co-operating, by allowing races to overflow into their properties, etc., and this cannot be allowed to continue. The Council will take Court action for any breach of the water race by-laws. In cases where the Council has installed pipes or gates to control the flow into side races at the present time, no interference will be permitted. If any change is thought necessary, the County Staff should be notified. \ To avoid action being taken against parents, it is requested that children be prevented from placing obstructions in the races to form bathing pools, particularly in the main Kimberley race.
