THE DOG NUISANCE
Sir.—l have been interested in the correspondence relating to the above subject. Only one writer has displayed a vicious tendency towards dogs. On December 29 Hiram Hunter suggested that a dog should be muzzled if he misbehaved' after receiving exercise. A deep thinking person could not be so cruel. To try to compare the dogs of the Royal House with our backyard dogs in New Zealand is preposterous. Some time ago I read that our young Queen had made a request to have her dogs moved further away to avoid having her children disturbed at night. Surely she cannot be regarded as a fanatic. If Hiram Hunter does not like our fanatic-ridden country, why does he remain here? Many dogs have more brains than their owners.—Yours, etc..
