Mr Gordon Johnston Walker has been appointed a member of the board of trustees of the Timaru racecourse, in place of Mr Josph Gilmore, who has resigned, it is announced in the Gazette. Mr A. H. Foster, formerly a teacher at the Otago Boys’ High School, has been appointed industrial safety field officer for Dunedin by the National Safety Association of New Zealand. Mr Foster gained his M.A. degree and diploma of education at the University of Otago. He was an Otago representative Rugby player for four years, and a New Zealand University Rugby Blue in 1947 and 1949.
