LANARKSHIRE SHERIFF

FISHING INTERESTS OF MR J. TENNENT (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 22. Mr James Tennent. a brother of Mr R. B. Tennent, Assistant DirectorGeneral of Agriculture, arrived in Auckland by the Monowai today to begin a month’s holiday tour of New Zealand. He is Sheriff of the Scottish county of Lanarkshire, and chairman and managing director of Messrs R. and B. Tennent, Ltd., the largest steel roll foundry in Britain. Mr Tennent, who is accompanied by his wife, is an expert fisherman and has been on big game safaris in Tanganyika and Kenya. He has represented Scotland in international fly basting matches on Loch Leven and last March he caught 162 salmon in three weeks, a total weight of 14501 b.
