HOUSE DAMAGED BY FIRE
Severe damage to a bedroom and its contents were caused by a fire that broke out in a shop and dwelling at 456 Ferry road, Woolston, last evening. Other parts of the property were also damaged by smoke. Units from the Central and Woolston stations of the Christchurch Fire Brigade attended the fire at 10.55 p.m, and extinguished it within a ’ few minutes. The premises are occupied by Mr Dennis John Smith. At 0.41 a.m. yesterday a unit from the St. Albans station was called to a chimney fire in a house at 158 Canon street. St. Albans. No damage was done to the house, which’ is occupied by Mr D. Hern.
