MR HOLYOAKE IN FINLAND
VISIT TO RUSSIA COMPLETED
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) HELSINKI, October 19. New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister, Mr K. J. Holyoake, arrived at Helsinki today from Moscow. Mr Holyoake said that in Russia he dealt mainly with agricultural matters and also met the Communist leaders. He will fly to London tomorrow and later he will go to Rome to attend the meeting of the United Nations Food Argricultural Organisation, beginning on November 4, of which he will be chairman.
Leaving Russia Mr Holyoake was seen off at the Moscow airport by the Soviet Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Lobanov), the Soviet Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Mr M. N. Lutsenko), the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Mr G. I. Voronov) and the British Ambassador (Sir William Hayter). Before leaving, Mr Holyoake said he was struck during his visit to the Soviet Union by the kindness and hospitality of the Soviet people. He y/as convinced that the meetings and talks he had had during his visit would help to establish better understanding and friendship between the two countries.
