N.Z. FENCING TOURNEY
TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS T'DAY Forty-four entrants from 14 fencing dubs from Whangarei' to Invercargill will take part in the twelfth New Zealand fencing championship tournament which begins ip Christchurch today. The tournament, which is being held by the New Zealand Amateur Fencing Association, will be officially opened this morning by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr R. M. Macfarlane. M.P.). The provincial teams’ championship will be decided during the day. On Saturday the preliminaries of the men's and women’s individual foil and epee championships will be held, and in the evening the final of the epee. On Sunday the preliminary of the sabre championship will be held, and on Monday the finals of the men ? and women’s individual foil and the sabre championships.
