BRITISH CLOTHES FOR RUSSIANS
Collection Bought In London (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, October 19. Russian women will be able to buy British-designed clothes next January. An order has been placed with a wholesaler of low-price model style dresses by Mrs V. G. Kaminskaya, who spent a fortnight in Britain with a Russian trade delegation. “These are just what Soviet women want,’’ she said after seeing 38 models from the spring range of pure silks, thin worsteds, and pastel jersey twopieces, which, sell around £9 10s. ‘•They are plain, elegant and well cut —just what I have been looking for.” And she bought the lot. She said to the head of the wholesale firm: “If you like to bring your next collection to Russia, I shall be pleased to make arrangements for a three-day showing.”
