Princess To Visit Lambeth Palace

Princess, with Queen Elizabth, ™ e <.P u “ e Edinburgh and the Queen Mother, will be the guests of the archbishops and bishops of the Church England. The dinner will follow a service of rededication in the chapel of Lambeth Palace, the Archbishoo’s London residence, which was badly damaged during the war. Earlier this year, in a pronouncement on the subject of divorce and remarriage, the Archbishop of Canterbury said that although many second marriages were “abundantly blessed,” they could not take place in the Church under Church law. Group Captain Townsend has been divorced and his first partner is still Group Captain Townsend called on the Princess at her London home yesterday afternoon and stayed for about an hour and a half. Afterwards, Princess Margaret went alone to - a cocktail party given by the Royal Air Force Cinema Corporation at a West End hotel. The group captain did not attend the party, at which the Princess chatted about films. Sir Anthony Eden last night had an 85-minute audience with the Queen at Buckingham Palace after a Cabinet meeting earlier in the day. The audience lasted longer than the usual weekly meeting, but no statement followed. There will be another Cabinet meeting tomorrow.
