CHOIR FOR CHURCH CENTENNIAL

SPECIAL PRESBYTERIAN ARRANGEMENTS

A massed choir, drawn from all Presbyterian congregations in Christchurch, will be specially formed to sing at the centennial celebrations of the Presbyterian Church in Canterbury, which coincides with the centenary of St. Andrew’s Church, Oxford terrace, in March next year. Ministers and choirmasters are being invited to submit a list of singers from their choirs and congregations, who will be available to sing at the centenary thanksgiving and dedication in the Civic Theatre, Christchurch, on Monday, March 19. The programme will be broadcast in full' by Station 3YC.

The conductor will be Mr Len Barnes, and the organist Mr Robert E. Lake. Preliminary rehearsals will begin before the end of the year. The programme will be a selection of less well-known hymns and psalms, concluding with the Hallelujah Chorus.
