Woman Bookmaker.—A sentence of one month’s imprisonment with hard labour was imposed on Evelyn Mary Richards, aged 47, a domestic, when she appeared for sentence before Mr M. B. Scully, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court at Wellington on a charge of Bookmaking. She had pleaded guilty to the charge.—(P.A.)
