Fall in Waimakariri River
The Waimakariri river continued to fall yesterday after dropping 7ft during the week-end from Saturday morning’s peak, and last night any flood danger had passed. In the 24 hours tc 8 a.m. yesterday 83 points of rain fell at Arthur’s Pass. The river is expected to be running in fresh for a (few days. The road and rail routes 'to the West Coast are clear.
