Forecast:— Nelson and the West Coast.—Light to moderate winds from a westerly quarter; fair weather; moderate day temperatures. Coastal Marlborough.—Light to moderate southerly winds; scattered drizzle at first, clearing during the day; cool temperatures. Canterbury and Inland Marlborough.—Light winds from an easterly quarter; weather becoming fair during the morning; cool temperatures. Outlook: mainly fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER Light rain fell in Christchurch yesterday from the north-east. At midnight the sky was overcast and there was a li;ht north-east wind. The temperature was 42.8 degrees, and the barometer, at 30.46 in (1031.4 millibars), was steady. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 1 a.m.: 0.14 in Meteorological observations taken at tne Geophysical Survey, Christchurch, yesterday.
