Rejected Tender Causes ‘Concern’
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, August 29. Britain has expressed “grave concern” to Washington over the rejection of the £2,000,000 bid for a United States power contract, the “Daily Mail” said today. The United States Charge d’Affaires in London was given a message to this effect at the Foreign Office two days ago, the “Daily Mall” said. The rejected tender bv the English Electric Company fir six generators for the Joseph hydroelectric power project was reported to be 18 per cent, below the lowest bid by an American firip.
